About Us - Brad and Karianne

Our Roots

Graffiti Art Embroidery Emporium was founded in downtown Midland in 1992, and our screen print department was founded by Karianne’s father, Art Williams in 1985. Art ran A&M Screen Printing out of his home in Penetanguishene for 25 years and when he retired in 2010, we purchased A&M and took it under the Graffiti Art name. Art’s expertise is still called upon and you can still find him here a couple days each week helping out.

Us

Having spent a combined 30 years working in a large corporate environment, we have taken all that we learned and brought it here to Graffiti Art. Since 2005, we have had the pleasure of serving our customers and look forward to many more years to come. Join us as we continue to grow and evolve!

Our Team

We are truly fortunate to have a strong team here at Graffiti Art. We believe that we are strong as a company because of the faces that greet you when you visit as well as those that work hard behind the scenes to complete your order. We are a family-oriented company and have had many of our own family members work here over the years as well as others from the community who quickly become part of the family. We are proud to have all of them as part of our team!

Our Retail Store

In 2014, we endeavoured to update our look and add some new options to beautiful downtown Midland. With the help of some incredibly talented local craftsmen, we were able to bring our vision to life. From the stone facade to the original tin ceilings, the store has a look and feel that says, ‘Georgian Bay’. Most recently, at the beginning of 2020, we embarked on another major renovation which saw us move the apparel decoration side of the business into the back unit of our building at 239 King Street with an entrance off Dominion Avenue. Moving that part of our business to its own space has allowed us to streamline production and gives our customers a more direct interaction with our team. This also allowed us to renovate the retail space a little more, gaining more retail space and bringing in new suppliers and product lines. Rebranded as “Windswept Northern Lifestyle”, our retail space provides a selection of apparel and home décor that is inspired by Georgian Bay and showcases many Canadian brands, craftsmanship and made in Canada products. We are proud to showcase many local and Canadian artists. We are excited about all the new products we can now offer. Stop in and see us!

Recognition

We have been very blessed to be recognized by the Southern Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce as Small Business of the Year in 2007 and again in 2016. Having this recognition bestowed upon us by our peers means so much to us. We owe our success to our community and their continued loyalty and support over the years. Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.

We Are Stronger Together

We take great pride in our Community and have made it a priority to give back. Through sponsoring local sports teams and charity events, donating personalized stockings to families at Christmas, or volunteering on the boards of the Downtown Midland BIA and the Southern Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce over the years, we strive to support and promote our neighbours. We truly believe “The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.” – Mitch Albom.
